arcplan adds search engine to
dynaSight
New user interface available starting with version 4.0
(Langenfeld, 07-16-2003) – Starting with
version 4.0, arcplan added a completely new user interface to dynaSight, the successful business intelligence platform for the
development of individual management information systems – the dynaSight
search engine. With this interface, dynaSight will soon offer innovative
access to information, combining the effectiveness of an information
system with the attractiveness and the features of a search engine. For
the first time, end users will be able to obtain the company data they
need in a form that has previously only been known from Internet search
engines. The new dynaSight version and the search engine are scheduled
to become available in the fourth quarter of this year.
Internet
search engines make large amounts of unstructured data easily accessible
to the user without the need for extensive navigation. In the same way,
the dynaSight search engine makes this possible now for all of a
company’s data. The end user utilizes this search engine in the same way
as any other search engine. For example, in order to glean information
about a product, a customer, or a cost center in a certain period, it is
enough to enter the appropriate keywords to get a complete ranking list
that contains all available links to the relevant data. Just a mouse
click on the appropriate link and the user will obtain the complete
information. Therefore the user will not miss any relevant company data.
It is a
significant feature that the search also extends to data in the
underlying databases. In addition, the search engine makes it easier to
develop dynaSight applications, because the construction of navigation
functions can be sidestepped. Nevertheless, the full flexibility in
processing information, an essential attribute of dynaSight, is
maintained. You can find a demo version of the search engine at
